Pep Guardiola Still Can't Beat Sir Alex Ferguson

Animals Info

BELIBOLI - Having won 5 Premier League trophies, Pep Guardiola has apparently still not been able to beat Sir Alex Ferguson record. As is known, Pep Guardiola successfully secured his 5th Premier League title.

This happened after Arsenal lost to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground Stadium, Saturday (20/5/2023) evening.

In matchday 37, the Gunners lost 0-1 at the hands of Nottingham Forest. The defeat made Manchester City certain to come out as Premier League champions. Interestingly, Man City won without a single drop of sweat.

This is because Arsenal, who have gained a maximum of 84 points, can no longer catch up with Man City. For Manchester City, the title in the 2022-2023 season will be their 9th title. Previously, The Citizens won the Premier League Premier Division title in the 1936–1937 and 1967–1968 seasons.

Plus 7 trophies in the Premier League era: 2011–2012, 2013–2014, 2017–2018, 2018–2019, 2020–2021, 2021–2022 and 2022–2023.

These seven titles made Man City the team with the second most trophies in the Premier League era after Manchester United.

According to the official website of the Premier League, quoted by BolaSport.com, the Red Devils have won a total of 13 Premier League titles in the Premier League era.

They won in 1992–1993, 1993–1994, 1995–1996, 1996–1997, 1998–1999, 1999–2000, 2000–2001, 2002–2003, 2006–2007, 2007–2008, 2008–2 009, 2010–2011  , as well as 2012–2013

Meanwhile, the 2022-2023 Premier League title will be the fifth title for Guardiola. Previously, the coach from Spain led his team to become champions in the 2017–2018, 2018–2019, 2020–2021 and 2021–2022 seasons.

The 5 titles above have made Guardiola the coach with the most Premier League trophy collections. He only lost to the former Man United coach, Sir Alex Ferguson. Quoted from Khel Now, Ferguson collected a total of 13 trophies during his time as Manchester United coach.

That number places Ferguson as the coach with the most Premier League titles in history. Thus, Guardiola still needs 8 more titles to be able to match the great achievements of the man from Scotland. The following are the coaches with the most Premier League trophies in history:

1. Sir Alex Ferguson – 13 (trophies)

2. Pep Guardiola – 5

3. Jose Mourinho – 3

4. Arsene Wenger - 3
